This rest area hasn't existed for about two years. There used to be two covered rest areas along the entire route between Güstrow and Bützow. Now there are none, a disgrace for an international cycle route!

The Fountain of Joy of Life is a fountain on the central University Square in the center of the Hanseatic city of Rostock.

The representative building in the historicist style was built around 1890. The brick building was the seat of the parliament of the influential Mecklenburg estates, which included the nobility and towns. Today it houses the Higher Regional Court.

St. Nikolai was first mentioned in 1257, but is certainly a little older. It was the heart of the second of the four Rostock settlements. The church was consecrated in its current form in 1312. It was badly damaged in the Second World War. In a long-term reconstruction, a changed usage concept was implemented: The church space is used for church services and events, there are apartments in the roof, and the tower was made usable for church administration tasks.
