The Neukalen town hall is located right next to the St. Johannes Church on the market square.

St. John's Church was built between 1285 and 1290.

While the previous bridge was made of wood, the current one is a steel-concrete construction with two arched passageways for boats.

Today, the Neukalen port no longer plays a role in freight traffic. It is a berth and landing stage for the passenger ship "Karl-Heinz", a charter base for the motorboat rental company "Kuhnle-Tours" and a rest area for water hikers.

In my opinion, a beaver monument is more beautiful than anything that you don't know what it is. It's just two beavers. Period.

Demmin is an underrated small town. A detour is highly recommended for anyone travelling through Mecklenburg Switzerland. From the north, the town is practically the gateway to this region. During and after World War II, the town's citizens had to endure a lot of destruction. Despite this, enough substance and structure has been preserved and has been maintained in recent years to give an idea of how rich the town is in culture and history. The old warehouses at the port on the Peene River are examples of this and are a fantastic feature of the townscape. The same applies to the church and the medieval parcelling of the town centre.
