This magnificent cathedral took over 300 years to build. It boasts an impressive 115 meters in length and a 73-meter-high tower. Its exterior is remarkably ornately decorated.

One of only seven basilicas in the Netherlands, but certainly one of the most beautiful! I recommend a tour inside and out. It's simply worth seeing. The windows are beautifully detailed, illuminated from the inside in the sunshine. The light also illuminates certain details on the walls and ceiling. Be sure to bring your time!

The Roman Catholic Institute for the Deaf and Dumb (excusez le mot) is a monumental complex from 1910 in the form of the current complex on Theerestraat, designed by architect J.H.H. from Groenendaal. There it would grow into the largest institute for the deaf in the Netherlands, with hundreds of students. Beautiful park-like grounds with old trees.

The Cathedral Basilica of St. John Evangelist, commonly referred to as St. John's Cathedral, in the center of 's-Hertogenbosch is often regarded as the pinnacle of Brabant Gothic. During the third day of our (OMNI Skaters Alphen aan den Rijn) 3 day skeeler event we passed this beautiful historical place!

The ducal village of Sint-Michielsgestel is located in the green outskirts of Den Bosch. There was a rich settlement here in Roman times. In the Antiquities Museum you will learn more about the rich history of this area in the Dommel basin.

The Institute for the Deaf (IvD) was a Dutch care and educational institution for the deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind, founded in 1840 by the priest Martinus van Beek and the Zusters van de Choorstraat. Martinus van Beek gave religious lessons from 1828 to four Gemert deaf people using sign language, writing and hand alphabet. The motive for this was the teaching of Catholic beliefs, since otherwise the illiterate deaf would never learn of scriptures such as the Bible. In 1844 the Hostiebakkerij St. Michael was also started where hearing and hearing impaired people worked side by side in the preparation and sale of hosts to Catholic institutions.
