This electric pumping station was commissioned in 1936 by then-dike reeve H.C. de Jongh. Two memorial plaques on the pumping station commemorate the two previous (steam) pumping stations. The pumping station was modernized in 1998. Today, it is controlled by a computer in Druten.

In 1632, Veerhuis De Zwaan was built on a river dune, serving both the 'small ferry' to Gelderland and later the 'large steam ferry' between 's-Hertogenbosch and Rotterdam. The Veense corn mill is still very much alive. Brief history This round stone tower mill was built in 1838 for Willem and Reinier Ambrosius, as a successor to a 16th century wooden post mill. A map from 1798 shows that it stood on the same spot.
