St. Anthony of Padua Church is the parish church of Heusden, part of the Dutch municipality of Asten, located at Vorstermansplein 14. This single-nave church was built in 1921 based on a design by Hendrik Vorstermans. The brick church was built in the Neo-Gothic style. The church has a pointed ridge turret as its tower. The facade features a church portal flanked by two chapels. The church is a listed municipal monument.

The memorial site is now used for all sorts of purposes, and there are many reasons to remember something. A peaceful place of silence.

Nice quiet road on the way from Someren to Lierop

Based on an inscription on this mill, it has often been claimed that it was built in 1506. Some sources indicate that a mill must have stood here as early as 1419. However, after extensive research, standard mill experts have determined that this mill dates back to the 18th century. Was this standard mill rebuilt in the 18th century as a successor to a much older mill? On May 17, 1771, Asten and the mill were struck by extreme weather, and the mill was overturned. In 1779, just eight years later, the mill was again severely damaged by the storm. The mill belonged to the Lords of Asten for a long time—until the middle of the 20th century. In 1953, the mill was sold to the Van Stekelenburg family. Major renovations were carried out in 1961. On the night of June 15-16, 1970, this mill fell victim to a fire, but remained standing, albeit severely damaged.

The section runs along the quiet Meervendijk road and is the best connection between Lierop and the Lieropsche Heide or Strabrechtse Heide.

On the edge of the Peel, hidden behind lush vegetation, lie the romantic remains of the more than 600 year old castle of Asten. The idyllic ruin evokes a turbulent past of exploitation, wars and witch hunts. The last war was fatal to the castle, in 1944 an attack on the castle took place in which the building became a ruin. The castle may have perished, but the outer bailey still stands in all its glory and has been continuously inhabited for the centuries of its existence. Until the 1970s they were farms and at the moment they offer shelter to around fifty people. Due to its vulnerability and the fact that it is located on private property, the ruins are not freely accessible.

Short and nice gravel strip with halfway a kind of general memorial where you can find all kinds of sweet and beautiful messages. Lovely quiet place to stand 'still' for a while.
