Unfortunately, the alpine farm was closed when we visited. The drive up there by car is very adventurous but beautiful.

Alpe di Colonno is the starting point for numerous excursions in the Alta Valle Intelvi, here there is also a beautiful refuge with an excellent view of Lake Como. You can reach Alpe di Colonno comfortably by car along a road that goes up from Pigra. Pay attention because it is not very wide, it could be inconvenient to meet a car coming from the opposite direction.

We wanted to get up with the cable car but our host said it is not very trustworthy (meaning the opening hours), so we tried and it wasn’t operating that day. You can get up with the car as well and we hiked to Monte Pasquella and Monte Sertore from there. I can only recommend. The views are amazing.
