Today's highlight was the first hour of sunshine after several gloomy days at the campervan site, and lots of nice people. I always enjoy coming here; there's always something new to discover.

🥪 Picnic area with a view of the Glan Valley (Wartekopf) A simple, natural rest area with a sweeping view of the Glan Valley – ideal for a relaxing snack in the heart of the Wartekopf oasis. Surrounded by dry grassland and oak trees, this spot brings peace and space to your break. Tip: Come in the early afternoon, when the light bathes the Glan Valley in warm tones – a perfect moment to take a breather.

🛡️ "Old German" by August Drumm An impressive bronze bust of a Germanic warrior – characteristic of August Drumm's expressive style. Located directly at the Gallushalle in Ulmet, it brings history and art to your break. Tip: Be inspired by the autumnal bronze tone – the warrior appears particularly powerful when the light accentuates him. Perfect for pausing for a moment and sensing history.

🚉 Former Ulmet Train Station Built in 1904, this sandstone ensemble with a reception and goods shed is lovingly preserved and a listed building. Located directly on the Glan Valley Railcar Route, it's ideal for a short break with a sense of history. Tip: Take advantage of the tranquil setting for a special photo stop – and perhaps for a quick route planning for your railcar tour.

The region can be explored in a very special way on the disused tracks of the Glan-Blies Railway: Ride a bicycle trolley through the Glan Valley, passing meadows, bridges, and small villages. It's an unusual and family-friendly way to travel. 💡 Tip: You can rent trolleys for around 40km between Altenglan and Staudernheim – ideal for a day trip! Reserve early, as spaces are limited.

🎶 Tithe Barn & Musicians' Land Museum – A Sound of History The unique Palatinate Musicians' Land Museum is located in the historic tithe barn of Lichtenberg Castle. It impressively tells the story of the itinerant musicians who once traveled from here to all over the world. Tip: The exhibition combines a sense of home with a musical journey around the world – absolutely worth seeing!
