The Catholic Church of St. Franz Xaver in the center of Lauterecken was built between 1848 and 1853 and consecrated on July 31, 1853.

The multi-purpose service center on Schulstraße formerly housed the Lauterecken District Court, which was part of the Kaiserslautern Regional Court and the Zweibrücken Higher Regional Court. In 1797, the French established a court of peace, which for a long time lacked its own courthouse. The stucco building with a hipped roof, constructed in 1856/57 as a regional court and prison, was extended in 1899 to house the land registry office. The second floor, with its intricately designed, coupled round-arch windows, stands out from the simple window surrounds of the two lower floors. The prison rooms were formerly located behind the double windows of the first floor. Following the Imperial Reformation, the regional court was renamed the "District Court" in 1877. The Grumbach and Wolfstein District Courts were abolished in 1952 and 1968, respectively. Their jurisdiction was incorporated into the Lauterecken District Court, which continued to exist until 1975. In 1980, the land registry office finally moved from Lauterecken to Kusel. In 1992/93, the building underwent extensive renovations.
