Beautiful weather shelter for a cozy break

Reipoltskirchen Castle is one of the best-preserved moated castles in the Palatinate region, picturesquely perched above the Odenbach River. Originally built in the 12th century, it served as a noble residence for centuries and has been rebuilt several times. Today, the castle houses a restaurant and offers visitors a fascinating insight into medieval architecture combined with modern elements. Particularly impressive is the massive keep, which serves as an observation tower and offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Glan Valley and the surrounding forests. "Le Passage" by Luxembourg artist Bertrand Ney was created from red granite in 2014. The monumental stele elements form an open door into the landscape, symbolically inviting visitors to pass through. As part of the European Sculpture Route of Peace, the work connects the Reipoltskirchen region with an art axis stretching over 4,000 kilometers from Normandy to Moscow. The sculpture represents openness, dialogue, and responsibility for peace in the world. Embedded in nature, it takes on an impressive presence and becomes a striking landmark along the sculpture trail. ✨ Tip: Walk through it consciously – the "passage" unfolds its power particularly in the interplay of landscape and symbolism.

The installation "Step Inside" by French artist Will Menter was created in 2015 and is made of oak and steel cables. It explicitly invites visitors to step inside and experience the sculpture with all their senses. As they walk through it, the wooden slats sway in the wind, creating soft sounds – an interplay of natural sounds and artistic design. The work combines sound art with the landscape, transforming the walk into an interactive experience.
