The island of Poel [pøːl] is located in the Wismar Bay in the Baltic Sea, near Wismar. The official municipality of Insel Poel includes the island as well as the northeastern offshore island of Langenwerder. It belongs to the district Nordwestmecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The main village of the municipality is Kirchdorf, at the end of the deep in the south of the bay Kirchsee. In addition to the Bay of Wismar in the south, the island is separated from the mainland in the east by the Zaufe and the Breitling and in the northeast by the Kielung. The island is the seventh largest German island with an area of 36 km².
Poel is connected by a drivable embankment with the mainland (community Blowatz, district Groß Strömkendorf).(Source: Wikipedia)

Beautiful coastal scenery, calm and relaxing in autumn when the wind blows from the sea and most people don't like to go outside. This year unfortunately with extremely limited gastronomy.
