Langenwerder is a small, uninhabited and protected island off the German Baltic coast. It is located near the island of Poel, north of Gollwitz, a district of the municipality of Insel Poel. It is separated from the island by the shallow Kuhlenloch. The bay of Gollwitz separates it from the Boiensdorfer Werder peninsula on the mainland. Langenwerder was created as a beach wall during the Littorina transgression several thousand years ago, and is still being actively formed today as part of coastal balancing processes.
