You don't have to be impressed, but perceiving and looking is ok.

beautifully laid out wooden plank yard. Boccia can also be played here. Right next door is a café / restaurant with a great terrace right on the Herrenteich. Delicious cakes, very nice service.

          ABENDLIED
          JÖRG PLICKAT: REINFELD
"The moon has risen", one of the most sung songs in Germany, could have been written there on the bank of the Herrenteich in the Reinfeld municipality - even if research has other insights into what the "evening song" by Matthias Claudius (1740 - 1815) is was built in Wandsbek around 1778.

Nevertheless, the location that the sculptor Jörg Plickat chose for his memorial in 1990 on the occasion of the 250th birthday of the poet is more than suitable - not only because Claudius was born in Reinfeld, but because all the ingredients of his verse are suddenly felt on this small lake let: The fog, the evening mood, the meadows, the silence - and of course the moon.

Plickat has created a chunky, geometric work of art for the lake shore, which corresponds to its well-known design language. The five-part monument made of black and red Finnish balmoral granite unfolds almost majestically from lying wedge-shaped elements from which a five-fold broken stele and an oblique cube rise. The higher stele seems to balance a semicircular shape that involuntarily reminds some of a lemon wedge - but that would not be far from the manifestations of the moon. The name and portrait head of Matthias Claudius are hidden in the smoothly polished stone elements, as well as the text of his evening song towards the water, which seems to be steamed onto the stone like a breath of fog.

The artist carefully chose his abstracting forms: "The abstract design with geometric elements, which can only be interpreted as hill, house, tree and moon, I believe," says Plickat, "leaving enough room for the interested viewer to have and to stimulate him to his own interpretation. "

What the marble club has to do with Matthias Claudius, probably only the "artist" knows. After all, he was born here, but such a memorial stone is more of a vilification.
