Above the north door there is a founding inscription naming Geórgios Katimetzóglou as the painter of the frescoes. It was painted in 1992-95 in traditional Byzantine style.
The sanctuary (Holy of Holies) is optically separated from the congregational space by a dividing wall covered with pictures, the iconostasis. This separation can be understood as a recourse to pre-Christian Greek tradition; the most important part of ancient Greek and ancient Roman temples was the cella, to which only priests had access.
