little info from the internet:Our association has existed since 1989. Initially called “Verdener Eisenbahnfreunde e.V.” (VEF), some vehicles were purchased, the former VWE Deutz diesel locomotive 2 (not to be confused with the VWE DL 2, today VEF V262) and some railcar trailers in order to be on the Verden-Walsroder Railway to be able to run a museum.Image5In the coming years, the vehicle inventory was expanded, and some vehicles left our club again. Finally, our club has developed further - and today we are living up to our concept of becoming a real small railway more than ever.We have a small fleet of vehicles. But we take care of what we have and, for example when it comes to refurbishment, we attach great importance to restoring the vehicles in such a way that our fellow travelers say “Yo, that makes it happier on the Kleinbohn!”But for us it's not just about running a historic passenger train. Rather, we focus on ensuring that the historic train also stops at historic train stations (and we have six of them). Just browse through our “News” pages and see how, for example, the Armsen and Hohenaverbergen train stations have been restored. This is also about preserving local history. We see the Kleinbahn “as a whole” and attach importance to the fact that the Kleinbahn impression is created while waiting for the train. So in 2007 we changed our name to “VEF Kleinbahn Verden-Walsrode e.V.”
