The hiking trail offers great views of the opposite castle and the Königstuhl. It is one of the warmest spots in Germany, which is why it always blooms earlier here than in the valley. Numerous benches invite you to take a break with a view. If you want to do a bit more, you can continue hiking to the Neustift monastery.

The Philosophenweg is an approximately two-kilometer-long, especially steep, path that leads from the Neuenheim district of Heidelberg to Heiligenberg. It is located directly opposite Heidelberg Castle on the Königstuhl and is one of the sights of Heidelberg.

Walked twice - twice beautiful, the ascent via the snake path is more strenuous and when it rains you can expect slippery cobblestones. Many opportunities to enjoy the great panorama with the castle and old town. My recommendation: Hike from the Benedictine Abbey of Neuburg to the Philosophenweg and return by bus.
