Instead of crossing Trieste and through the industrial area, it is much nicer to use the ferry. The departure times are visible on the internet. The one-way ticket costs € 4,35, the bike-ride costs € 0,85. 30 minutes drive from Trieste to Muggia

Lots of bike spaces on board and the boat is really well maintained. The crossing is very pleasant and panoramic.
