Location: Lower Franconia, Bavaria, Germany
Located to the east of the market square, this area is one of the most beautiful, re-lived testimonies of the medieval and imperial past: small streets, cobbled streets and lovingly restored residential and craft houses. The name "Zurich" (Old High German: cattle pasture) indicates that centuries ago large areas for animal husbandry existed here. The northern adjoining area around the "Krumme Gasse" fascinates with its winding lane system. On its eastern side are the remains of the historic city walls on the Upper and Lower Wall.

The Zürch (location: Im Zürch; nickname: the village in the city) is a district in the independent city of Schweinfurt and part of the old town as well as a former castle district. The old town quarter is structurally and historically independent and has a largely preserved townscape.
Zurich was first mentioned in a document in 1538. Previously, Zurich was not a district, but an independent municipality with a mayor, local council and police officer (see also: Etymology). With its own history, the Zurich is similar to the Fischerrain.Source:de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z%C3%BCrch_(Schweinfurt)
