Mouth of an old mine tunnel at the Maassen drive shaft. This served the restaurant as a drinks cellar (beer stollen).

To protect the bats, this mouth hole is also closed. There are certainly nicer tunnel entrances on the impressive mining nature trail, but this name alone is an attraction for a photo :)
The forest restaurant where you can actually get beer (and a Harz hiking pin stamp) is right next door. A trip there is worth it just because of the wonderful view of Lautenthal!translated by•July 11, 2023
