When the weather is good, the view from the Wendelstein is simply fabulous. The paths are well developed and suitable for all age groups. The inn has salty prices, but the operation of the cable car probably justifies it. It's still worth staying here and enjoying your pint in the mountain sun!

The path from Bad Feilnbach to the Wendelstein is very beautiful. It leads through a small gorge with waterfalls, there are some alpine pastures on the way and challenging climbs to cope.

The Wendelstein is pretty crowded, but still a classic that you should have been on.
Personally, I prefer less developed peaks, but the Wendelstein is and will remain a classic.

The small Wendelinkapelle is located right at the top of the Wendelstein. It was built in 1718 by a Bavarian farmer out of gratitude for finding his steeds lost in the fog.

Still a beautiful panoramic mountain, but overcrowded. It's best to start very early in summer

Up here the view is super good, unfortunately everything is very built up

Wonderful views into the distance in good weather.

Very crowded, a lot of "non-hikers" with the wrong shoes on the way. Mostly single file to the summit….

Great panoramic mountain with summit gastronomy and a well secured summit panorama path

Up on the Wendelstein it is very spacious and you have a good view of the mountains

The Wendelstein is a 1838 m high mountain in the Bavarian Alps. It belongs to the Mangfall Mountains, the eastern part of the Bavarian Pre-Alps. It is the highest peak of the Wendelstein massif.
Altitude: 1,838 m

The Wendelstein - Bavarian parade summit and adventure mountain
The Wendelstein can be reached from the Inn Valley from Brannenburg by cog railway and from Bayrischzell by cable car.

Unfortunately it was cloudy and blessed our visit. Nice climb on the way to the summit cross. Sturdy shoes recommended.
July 29, 2022
If you take the cog railway to the Wendelstein, this is also possible for wheelchair users. The viewing platform is also wheelchair accessible.

Full, full, Wendelstein ;-)
It is (unfortunately) still one of the "mandatory mountains". Probably a little less frequented from the east (Sudelfeld) than from the west (Bayrischzell).

Of course, you are not alone on a summit with a cable car :-) But the way up on foot is always worth it - you are not alone here either, but at least there are far fewer hikers on the way. From the summit you have (if not overcast) a great view.

We took the first train on Monday and it was pretty empty up there 👍
