The mill of the Bühlhof, popularly known as the sawmill, is located in Gütenbach im Hintertal, at the entrance to the Pretty Valley. This name, which is somewhat misleading for a grinding mill, is derived from a hammer saw that was probably built here as early as 1680. The sawmill was first mentioned in a document in 1855. With the sale of the Bühlhof in 1889 to the grand ducal domain, the sawmill and grinding mill belonging to the farm were also sold. This is the first documented reference to the Mahlmühle.
