The industrial crane is an overhead traveling crane on a crane runway made by the Fries company (1964). There is a staggered operator's cab under the boom. The crane forms a modern counterpart in steel construction to the nearby wooden "Old Crane" - dated to the year 1487 after excavation of the foundation - an ensemble of interesting technical history that embodies around 300 years of "crane history".In reminiscence of the former existence of a large loading port on the site of today's port park, the decision was made to keep the crane as an industrial monument.bingen.de/kultur/tor-zum-uneso-welterbe/weiter-sehenswuerdigungen
