It's worth stopping here briefly to see the bunker.

The Czechoslovak Wall was an extensive border fortification system of Czechoslovakia along the national borders with the German Reich, Austria, Poland, and Hungary, with further lines running inland. It was considered one of the best fortress construction systems of the 20th century, but it was not fully completed and could never fulfill its original purpose. The first fortification objects of the fortification system (simultaneously the first permanent fortifications of Czechoslovakia) originated in 1933 in Petržalka near Bratislava. The remaining parts were built between the winter of 1934 and October 1938.

B-S 1 „Štěrkoviště“ (Gravel Pit):
The bunker is located near the Danube directly on the „Pohraničiarska Signálka“, the former patrol path of the Iron Curtain. As described above, this bunker corresponds to the type „Pěchotní srub“ (infantry casemate), but is smaller. On the Danube side, there is a loophole for a 4.7cm anti-tank gun, and on the left flank, a loophole for a twin-MG.

The bunker is abandoned and appears as a lost place. Due to the graffiti, it is difficult to recognize the original camouflage paint...
