The Mürtschenalp is located in the hiking area of the Glarusnord Walensee holiday region and in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage area Tectonic Arena Sardona around the Mürtschenstock. In this area you can also find the Queen of the Alps, the Swiss stone pine.
