Instead of hiking on the Waldstätterweg from Brunnen to Gersau, I had planned a variant with more vertical meters over Rüti and Bärfallen, according to my motto "steep is cool". The path then joins the Waldstätterweg again.So we had the most strenuous part of the hike right at the beginning, but also the most beautiful views and depths.The route from Rüti would theoretically be closed due to logging. There was no marking at the beginning, just barrier tape at the end. On the way there was a fallen tree, but it was sawn out in such a way that the path could be used without any problems.The descent is very steep and often narrow. Good to do in dry weather. When wet, only suitable for very sure-footed hikers.
