The castle offers a beautiful view of the Alsenz Valley and Altenbamberg.
The view extends to the Nahetal to Rotenfels and the Ebernburg.
Actually, we wanted to stop in the restaurant. However, they had company holidays. Opening hours otherwise from 11 am to 8 pm, so ideal for hikers.
After our return we looked again on the homepage.
The reference to the company holidays we have then found yet.
But not where we expected him to be and where he belongs.

The Altenbaumburg is the ruin of a spur castle on a ridge above the village of Altenbamberg and one of the largest castle ruins in the Palatinate. The castle area extending over a length of 200 m and a width of 40 m is subdivided into an upper, middle and lower castle, each coming from different building periods.
The upper castle seems to be the oldest complex and presumably from the 12th or early 13th century. The Gothic central castle was built around the 14th or 15th century. Unfortunately, only a few remnants of her ringing and some buildings are visible from her. The gothic lower castle was built after 1385. Remnants of her close to a former chapel.
