The Altenbaumburg lies high above the Alsenz valley. It is only a few kilometers to the Alsenz estuary near Bad Münster am Stein. Therefore you have a view of both river valleys from up here. The view of the Rotenfels is particularly impressive. On the Altenbaumburg there is also a restaurant with a beer garden with hiking-friendly opening times. That was one reason to choose this as the destination for our hike. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for company holidays.
