The neutral Grenzweg, which is followed by the Königsstein, bears the name Saugasse. According to legend, the pigs were driven up to Tillenstadt. In fact, it is an old smuggler's way into Bohemian.

Located at an altitude of 785 meters above sea level, Königsstein, also known as "Breiter Stein", is, geologically speaking, a 350-million-year-old block of predominantly Cambrian banded and mica schists of the Arzberg series. Due to its location, however, it came early to an important political significance. It is considered the oldest natural boundary mark of the region. Since the border agreement between the then Nordgau and the Bohemian Duchy in 1109, he is considered an immovable border point.
