The medieval city gate from the direction of Fürstenberg. At the time of its construction there were only two ways of access to Lychen, the Fürstenberger gate and the Stargader gate. The Templiner Tor was only built later, when a dam was raised between the Stadtsee and the Oberpfuhlsee.

The Fürstenberger Tor, like the Templiner Tor and Stargarder Tor, once belonged to the medieval city wall. It was built in the 14th century. However, the entire city fortification was only completed in the 17th century. In the tower, the gatekeeper formerly collected tolls for import and export. Today, it houses a senior citizens' meeting place. The actual gate was demolished in the 19th century. In front of the Fürstenberger Tor, there was a moat that connected Oberpfuhlsee, Nesselpfuhlsee, and Stadtsee. This also belonged to the city fortification.
