Most climbers come to the Ehrwalder Sonnenspitze without a rope.Above all the climbing spots, however, there are perfect belays with chains drilled in so that you could secure them with a rope. However, there are almost no intermediate safeguards. Only a few traverses are equipped with a kind of sow tail, for which no quickdraws are required.A traverse is secured with a steel cable (A/B). But that doesn't make the path to the Ehrwalder Sonnenspitze a via ferrata. You could attach a via ferrata set. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they want to take it with them for the short stretch. You can stand on the band well. But it is very exposed. There is a drilled belay in front of the very airy summit level. After about 20 meters there is the first intermediate protection. It is another 20 meters to the last intermediate belay above the climbing point. From there about 40 meters to the summit cross. If you want to take a rope with you, it should be at least 30 meters long.

Pathfinding, exposure and condition claim are not to be underestimated. Anyone who has ever climbed long passages of 1-2 difficulty will love the tour (Sonnspitzen Überschreit)! Descent via N / O wall easily

Fabulous goal! The Ehrwalder Sonnenspitze can be crossed from south to north-east.The trail is marked with red dots, which you never have to look out for too long. With a little feeling for the best way, orientation is not difficult.A longer passage is steep. The path is often narrow and exposed. The approximately 40 meter long summit ridge is particularly airy. Some climbing sections are up to UIAA II. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are absolutely necessary. You should definitely wear a helmet.
