The north of the two mills that shape the Meldorfer silhouette.

The Nordermühle can already be recognized on a depiction by cartographer Daniel Friese from 1550/60. Once owned by the Meldorfer Dominican monastery, after 1559 it apparently belonged to the governor Heinrich Rantzau; later it was administered as royal property by the Chamber of Rent in Copenhagen. In 1791 the old post mill was demolished and replaced by a new one. In 1832 there was the last tenant on the mill. The government sold it in 1834. A gallery Dutchman followed in 1840. However, it burned down in 1862 when it was struck by lightning.

A basement dutchman followed as a new building. In 1879, Müller Hinrichs bought the mill. Hermann Hinrichs took it over in 1930 as the third generation. After 1950 the "Fortuna" was set up for pure engine operation.

In 1973 a mill lover bought the property from the miller's widow. Since then, the mill has been a listed building. It still has its complete, fully functional mill equipment today.

To preserve this impressive technology, it was not converted into a residential mill, but can only be lived in in the summer months without any comfort.
