The Sint-Audomarus Church of Adinkerke is the mother church of the other two parish churches of De Panne. It is characteristic of the area between dunes and polder and has a tradition of 900 years, in which it has experienced a lot.
The first Romanesque church of the fishing and farming village of 'Oyenkerke' was consecrated in 1120 by Blessed Jan van Waasten, bishop of Terwaan in present-day French Flanders, to whose diocese our region belonged at the time.

The Sint-Audomarus Church in the Belgian village of Adinkerke is a church building from 1855, dedicated to Audomarus or Omaar, a clergyman from Normandy. The church is a neo-Gothic three-aisled hall church with a partly Romanesque (12th century), partly Gothic church tower. The transept is also Gothic and partly made of iron sandstone. The older parts were preserved after the church was set on fire in Belgium during the French era.
