Beautiful area at the gates of Hamburg. And not for nothing a nature reserve that you should drive with an extra dose of respect. Better get off and push.

The Stellmoor-Ahrensburger tunnel valley is particularly interesting from a geological point of view. During the last ice age, melt water flowed into tunnels below the glacier, so that the subsoil was cut to different extents. Many Stone Age finds have also been discovered in this area.
Here you can forget the time on beautiful trails. On the Alfred Rust hiking trail you follow the traces of the first settlers and you can use information boards to get a comprehensive picture of the geology and the archaeological significance of the tunnel valley.
The new boardwalk is really great and always worth a detour.
You can use it to cycle through the moor with great views of nature. The boardwalk is floating and it rocks a bit when you drive on it. It was great fun to drive here.
It can only be very slippery when wet - so be careful!
The screed path is clearly only signposted as a pedestrian path.

The sign "Bicyclists descend" is not without reason at this jetty. When the bridge is wet it is like a slide.

This is a path over a pontoon through the swamp at Hopfenbach. You get the feeling it goes through the mangroves.

All new makes the May (or someone else😉) Now leads here on the Sonderweg for pedestrians at least a new pontoon bridge through the wonderful wetland.

If you drive over the bridge, you have the feeling you drive through mangrove forests.

The boardwalk is shared with walkers. So it's best to drive there on less busy days.

The bridge has since been renovated. There is often a lot going on here, so be careful.
    But it is definitely beautiful.

A beautiful place! Particularly recommended for those interested in history. However, driving on the new jetty is not allowed.

Nice bridge, but mountain biking or cycling is apparently forbidden there. Very interesting!
