Tips
The Lac de Capitello is the deepest natural lake in Corsica (42 m max.) And the fourth largest in area (5.5 ha). It is surrounded by mountain peaks 2230 meters high and frozen over for more than eight months of the year.
In high season, the lake is visited by up to 1200 hikers per day, which is a problem for the fragile ecosystem.
