When the Schlosspark of Schloss Merten was redesigned, the then lord of the castle, Felix Graf Nesselrode, erected a temple portal on the opposite side of the victory, jokingly calling his family "Phantom". With the also called "Gloriette" Scheigenebäude a well-known from the French garden architecture point of view, a so-called "Point de Vue" was created.
From up there you have a beautiful view of the town of Merten and the stud farm.
