Tips

  • Chris

After a short, unsecured climbing passage from the direction of Feichteck, there is a great view as a reward.

Be careful when descending from the Karkopf in the direction of Feichteck, black route with unsecured climbing passage.

I ran the trio like this: Hochries, Karkopf, Feichteck and would reverse the route next time.

The little neighbor of Hochries. As soon as you start from the Hochries in the direction of Karkopf it becomes noticeably quieter. At the summit, you are often alone. At the summit there are delicious blueberries!

Stop here for a moment, take a breather and admire the great view - before continuing to the summit.

Small but fine summit. Quiet, with great views of the Feichteck and the Hochries.

The Karkopf (1496 m) is normally climbed from the Hochries. The transition is easy, a bit rocky at first with some high kicks. In the meadow slope on the summit ascent, a wonderful view to the south of the Wilder Kaiser.
The further path in the direction of Feichteck is only for experienced, sure-footed mountain hikers, appropriate signs indicate this (difficulty SAC T3).
