The Dutch tower windmill, still fully operational or grindable, was built in 1865 by ancestors of the Mosters family on the agricultural business now managed by Georg Mosters and has remained in family ownership to date. Their grinder was operated by covering wings until 1927. In 1870 the mill received a steam engine to support it. Milling was carried out here until the 1970s. In 2009, the current owner began lovingly restoring the mill, which has been under monument protection since 1984 - largely by himself. The field stone masonry was fragile and had to be re-grouted, the wooden beams, wings and lozenges had to be renewed or reinforced.
The mill, the landmark of the Menzelen-Ost district, can be visited on Mill Day and on the Day of the German Monument.
