Central park is designed for bikes. if you want to share a ride with less experienced people this is the best place. Bring some food and make an afternoon of it.

Super nice to drive. The roads are easy to roll. There are a lot of people around, but there is still space. Also a great experience with the rental bike.

A great bike path to ride. Many racing cyclists do their laps here and have a lot of fun. But it's also great to ride a rental bike and let the park work its magic on you.

The complete circle through Central Park is about 10km, but shorter routes are possible. The biking/skating/running path is paved. If you choose to turn off to see the park in more detail you have to dismount and push your bike.

If you want to feel the beating heart of New York without the constant honking of yellow cabs, grab a bike and head to Central Park Drive. Nestled in the steel and glass jungle of Manhattan, this sprawling park combines nature with urban life in a way you won't experience anywhere else.

Central Park is a labyrinth of paths and streets immersed in lush greenery. Yes, it's big - and yes, you may get a little lost. But that's exactly the magic! Each winding path leads to a new, unexpected place.

During your bike ride, you'll notice that the city never really quiets down here: joggers pass you by, families spread out their picnic blankets, and in a quiet corner you might find someone engrossed in a book. Athletes, families, dreamers – Central Park is for everyone.

The park is a paradise for cyclists, whether beginners or professionals. The 10 km long circular route offers enough space for everyone. If you feel like taking a shorter route, junctions are possible at any time. The asphalt path is not only ideal for cycling, skaters and runners also get their money's worth.

A little insider tip: With the Citibike offer you can grab a bike inexpensively, all you need is an app. Plan enough time, pack a delicious picnic and enjoy an afternoon full of discovery and joy. And if curiosity takes you down one of the many small paths, remember to get off your bike and push it - this way you can experience the park in all its glory up close.

It's pretty good how a road and its use are regulated here. But it's often very busy and you have to be careful.

I've been racing and riding in Central Park for 45 years. Tourists and e-bikes and scooters have made it a lot less enjoyable. But given that it's become the number one tourist attraction in New York, here are some tips to not ruin it for the locals:
                                        1. The bike lane has two sections one is for SLOW riders. If people are passing you, you should move to the SLOW side of the bike lane.
                                        2. Don't stop your bike(s) in the bike lane; pull over to the side of the roadway. Likewise, don't ride up to a red light and spread out five across. While you should be commended for obeying traffic signals, 90% of us New Yorkers only stop for pedestrians crossing the roadway legally. If the crosswalk is empty we ride through.
                                        3. I know everyone needs to selfie their way through all of life's experiences, but it's against the law driving a car, and many times people taking selfies are not attentive to the road. If you need to document your bike ride, pull off to the side of the road to take your photos and videos.
                                        4. If you need to use an ebike, kindly do not buzz those of us who are in the Park for exercise and believe in human powered vehicles.
