The Pirna–Herrenleite railway was a branch line in Saxony that was only used for freight traffic. It began in Pirna on the Kamenz–Pirna railway line and led to the quarries in Herrenleite. The line was closed in 1998.
The Historical Feldbahn Dresden association has taken over the remaining track, including the site and the end of the line in Herrenleite, and wants to use it as a feeder to the newly created field railway museum. At present, there are draisine rides with guest vehicles on the occasion of larger events. Gauging to 600 mm is planned in the future. There you can see locomotives and wagons in different gauges, which were mainly used to transport building materials such as clay, gravel and bricks.
