The area is as good as unsecured. In addition to the large tanks, which can be visited both from above and inside (if you dare), there are still former residential buildings. It seems to be a paradise for sprayers, after all, I saw a few today

Consisting of several Baraks, two large fuel tanks (capacity about 7700 cubic meters / ground covered) and several underground storage tanks. Machinery and equipment are dismantled. The area has been abandoned since 1990.

The fuel and lubricant store 44 of the NVA is based on a section of the former Nazi armaments factory Paraxolwerk Niederlehme, which as plant W of Paraxol GmbH ↑ from 1940-1945 produced pentaerythritol. Pentaerythritol is a basic material for the production of the explosive nitropenta. In 1951 the KVP (Barracked People's Police) took over the main property after a change of legal entity. The NVA that emerged from the KVP rebuilt it from 1956 and expanded it. [203] Until 1990, it was the location of various NVA news units, including of News Regiment 2, which was later transformed into the 2nd News Brigade.
The former methanol warehouse was used from 1963 as a fuel and lubricant warehouse 44 of the LSK / LV (Air Force / Air Defense) of the NVA. To this end, step-by-step conversions and additions were made. E.g. A security area with accommodation and new roads were built. In the 1970s, a double tank was built that at least tripled the previous storage capacity. The jet fuel TS-1 (kerosene) was stored in all tanks. Pipelines connected the warehouse to a vehicle filling station and a loading / unloading station for tank wagons.

With the end of the NVA, the property was handed over to the Bundeswehr. After a short time it was classified as dispensable and was transferred to the assets of the federal financial administration. This ended its use as a supply store.
A revitalization as a riding stable failed. In 2014 the city council of Königs Wusterhausen approved the current development plan, which provides for the conversion into a »hotel and holiday home complex with leisure and recreational facilities«. Nevertheless, the object continues to deteriorate. There is no recognizable construction activity.
