The shuttered Derry Lodge, which is not open to the public, makes for a ready destination or waypoint. Whilst the lodge isn't that exciting, the surrounding area, particularly by the Quoich Water, is tranquil and a great place for a rest/picnic. Bob Scott's bothy is close by.
