    Adolfsturm + HöhenBurgSchloß - Friedberg 🚴‍♂️

Friedberg Castle in the Hessian town of Friedberg is one of the largest castle complexes in Germany (a hilltop castle at 140 m above sea level). For centuries, it was the center of the Burgraviate of Friedberg. Today, it houses various public institutions, including large parts of the tax office, the Burggymnasium (castle gymnasium), and a church, within its historic walls. 🚴‍♂️
    --------------------------------
    The Adolfsturm
The Adolfsturm is a butter-churning tower. The castle originally had two keeps; the tower at the south gate collapsed in 1684, while the other, the Adolfsturm, dates back to the mid-14th century and is the oldest surviving medieval structure in the castle. Today, it is the city's landmark and, at 54.42 m high (58.22 m with weather vane), one of the largest keep towers in Germany. In 1347, the Friedberg castle guards captured Count Adolf of Nassau. The ransom made it possible to build a new keep, which was named Adolfsturm after the released hostage. 🚴‍♂️
