The train station in Auw was completed in 1870. The Eifel line was opened to public traffic on July 1, 1871. What all stations in the Kylltal have in common is the facing with red sandstone ashlars. The picturesque asymmetrical grouping of porches and extensions, especially in the larger buildings, individual timber-frame sections and the partially overhanging roofs emphasize the rural character of the railway line.
