About Hermine Hund

I am always looking for the ideal dog tour. My dog and I have different ideas about it ...I want trails, rocks, canyons and breathtaking views. Hermione clearly prefers water, wide paths, meadows that alternate with sun-drenched forests.Well, the Orchid Route is definitely a Hermione Loop. Unfortunately, a large part of the route goes over a tar road. On hot days, the circular route is not for sensitive paws.As a start we have chosen the Kyll, with a view of the Bertradaburg. As this is privately owned, a visit is not possible. So we turn away and walk a little bit through Mürlenbach towards Braunebach. The babbling and gurgling of the brook accompanies us on half of the way. At first Hermione also has the opportunity to wet her feet again and again. When we come across the sign for the nature reserve, that's over for now. From here we could see the orchids. Hermione and I are too early in the year for that, however. But I'm just looking forward to what is already blooming. The path leads you uphill in a slow incline, so that you hardly notice the incline. At some point the path makes a turn to the left in the direction back towards Mürlenbach. From here we leave the Braunebach. It continues slightly uphill through the forest. At some point you come across a meadow on the left and have the first distant view.At the first mowed meadow, Hermione was allowed to run free again, which she immediately used to roll extensively in the meadow. With one last look back, it goes back into the forest. Suddenly you come across remnants of a wall. One can clearly see that houses once stood here. The secret is revealed in a huge box tree. You walk through the former Altenacker settlement and you also meet the source, Heischerborn, the settlement.Hermione tested the water and found it good.It goes on and is rewarded with fantastic views. It is worth taking a break at a chapel with a view of Mürlenbach. Then it goes downhill to Mürlenbach and back to the starting point. Conclusion: Hermione thought the hike was great. She gives 🐾🐾🐾. I myself give 🐾🐾 because of the route over the tarred road. But we will definitely come back to the orchid bloom.

In the best hiking weather, explore Mürlenbach with the Bertradaburg ...
I parked at the train station, right on the Kyll. After a little thought, I decided that Hermione doesn't have to explore the Kyll now. Your water rat heart has to put it back once. The first piece goes neatly up to Bertradaburg and past it. Passing a pasture, we went into the forest ... To then hit the first obstacle ... The path was blocked with fallen trees. I thought for a moment and then climbed over the trees with Hermione. Hermione was very excited about it. As I then found out, it wasn't because of the blockade, but because of the pack of wild boars that we scared off. Hermione is always excited by the scent of wild boars, apparently the pigs smell especially good for her. The path then became a path and led us out of the forest onto a piece of cleared field, into the sun. We enjoy the sun and after a short while we come across this

A little tour .... Very nice along the Salm or a tributary.Ideal for dogs who, deep down in their hearts, are actually water rats. There are always opportunities to get to or into the water ... which my little mouse used extensively.Due to the deep sleep in which Germany is located, you hike alone during the week. At the weekend you have to expect oncoming traffic. Most of the time it is on narrow paths. In some places the forest is very pristine.

The castle ponds lie down from Manderscheid on the Lieser. Since visiting the ponds requires a very steep descent and then a steep ascent again, hikers often do not plan it in their tour. But it's worth a visit. Those who take the trouble will be rewarded with an idyllic and quiet place. A refuge with bench and table invites you to linger. The water for the ponds is taken from the Lieser and led to a first, narrower pond. This is narrower and leads to the main pond, which is broader and larger on the whole.
The ponds meander around a small elevation that invites you to go around it. At the end of the pond, the water is fed back to the Lieser. The location and the nature of the place, the tranquility - everything together makes you pause and take a deep breath…. a place and also the way to the pond are a real pleasure.I advise taking your time for this tour…. Just use the day to slow down….Why not just go on a hike where the length is not the decisive factor, but every single step, every look, every breath?

Circular hiking trail no. 55 of the Südeifel Nature Park ..... The length given by Komoot is not entirely correct. The circular hiking trail is almost 6km long, plus the ascent from Bollendorf. We took the parking lot behind the Hotel Sonnenberg, so the ascent was a little shorter.
And for everyone who would like to take a shorter route, you can shorten the route from the Maria-Theresien Stein boundary stone. From this stone a 15-minute walk leads back to the Hotel Sonnenberg. But I definitely recommend the entire circular route.
Almost the entire hiking trail leads past rocks. You always stay on top of the rock plateau, with easy going up and down.
The green hell is impressive. The Kreuzlay viewpoint and the Predigtstuhl offer wonderful views.
It is really a very recommendable hiking trail ... Simply awesome 🤩Unfortunately I don't have any photos this time, but I will hike this trail again ... so photos will follow😉
