The public observatory, built in 1969 by Zweckverband Schloss Dhaun, offers interested visitors excellent astronomical observation possibilities away from the light-polluted cities. It is operated by the members of the Department of Astronomy of the Schlossakademie Dhaun. The public observatory is open to anyone on request.
The observatory offers regular observatory evenings, regular lecture evenings, special events for groups upon arrangement and special events for pupils and children groups (from 5 years).
