The "Madhouse" in Pyramiden today seems like an abandoned dream: Seagulls nest and screech in the broken windows, as if they've taken over the building. It was indeed once a "mad house" – it housed a kindergarten and school, full of life, children's laughter, and Soviet pedagogy in the middle of the Arctic. Today, only the wind echoes through the empty corridors.
