This tour combines the secrets of Pyramiden: the impressive panoramas of the "upper terrace," the icy breeze at the old mine entrance, and the Soviet time capsule atmosphere of the abandoned settlement. It's ideal as a day adventure from Longyearbyen—whether by boat in summer or by snowmobile in winter. The climb to approximately 2,000 meters is somewhat challenging, however.
