The small memorial on the former railway 74 Diksmuide-Nieuwpoort shows a Belgian, a French and a German soldier. The village of Rampskapelle was occupied by the Germans in October 1914, but a bloody attack drove them back behind the river Ijzer.

A special monument on this site is the statue “Verbroedering 25-12-1914” by William Livermore. This statue commemorates one of the most memorable moments of the First World War, when soldiers on both sides of the front temporarily laid down their weapons to come together in a spirit of peace and brotherhood on Christmas Eve 1914.
