Le Conquet, located at the end of the world, is a small port where you embark for Ouessant and Molène. It is especially renowned among fishermen for the quality of the lobsters, lobsters, crabs and spider crabs found in its waters.

On the GR 34 (customs trail), the town is an ideal break for itinerant hikers. The richness of its history and its many amenities even invite you to extend your stay there.

The port at the end of the world, inhabited since prehistory, was a shelter on the sea routes and a nest for shipping companies that manufactured merchant ships. The Normans and later the English ravaged it several times. Inland, the village of Lochrist still bears witness to the time when the historic center of Le Conquet was away from the sea and was a simple settlement of the municipality of Plougonvelin. As population pressure changed, the Lochrist church was demolished stone by stone in 1856 and relocated to its current location.

Today, Le Conquet is still an active small town, with a population of 2,750 in 2022. Active because of its pretty fishing port, mainly focused on crustaceans: crabs, lobsters and lobsters. But also because of tourism: the old barge mansions, the bird-populated Ria, the pier for Molène and Ouessant, the Iroise Marine Natural Park, the long Blancs Sablons beach and the beautiful coastal paths attract a large audience. The municipality, which includes the Kermorvan peninsula and eight islands of the Molène archipelago, now extends over 8.5 square kilometers.
