After 84 years of operation at the Hausen hydroelectric power station, the structural integrity of the weir system had reached its limits and renovation was unavoidable. In 15 months of construction, two low-maintenance rubber weirs with a length of 48 meters were installed, which are significantly more powerful and can be controlled more precisely than the old weir system. Last but not least, a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge was built that connects the two sights of Banz Monastery and Vierzehnheiligen and is often visited by pilgrims, among others.
