Route of the Pennine Cycleway that actually consists of the old main road (now well broken down and replaced by the new main road) and what appears to be a farm track.

A bit of a surprise when following NCN68 (the Pennine Cycleway) and not suitable for expensive road bikes!

The westernmost portion is a steep drop down to the main road and is very loose with steep drop off to the side - consider seriously to walk down if not equipped with a mountain bike.

Nice and remote with lots of moorland bird life - I spotted lapwings and a pair of curlew.

Rode this track with gravel bike. Had to push bike on several parts due to steps and very uneven ground

I "rode" this track with a quite loaded but balanced tour-bike. It was ok to carry it down the stairs. The way down there is maybe a lot nicer and safer than going down that main-road. You can cross that main road on the bottom of the stairs and the track continues very nice and flat. Good terrain for tour- or gravel-bikes.
